Kim Öhman, Tomi Björk and Matti Wikberg are the founders of Restaurant Farang. Their extensive experience of and passion for Asian cuisine and culture has given birth to a unique concept, not just a restaurant but a setting where people can experience and enjoy food together.
Kim is the owner who is in charge of Restaurant Farang in Stockholm. He was born in Finland but began his restaurant career at Edsback Krog in Stockholm, at the time Sweden’s only two-star Michelin restaurant. After Edsback Krog, he returned to Helsinki and worked at Chez Dominique.
Eight years on the road followed, the longest period at The Fat Duck in England. Kim has also lived in New York where he graced the kitchen at Per Se and Sydney where he found a home at the Quay Restaurant.
In addition to Farang Stockholm, Matti is co-owner, together with Tomi Björck, of four restaurants in Helsinki – Farang, Gaijin, Boulevard Social and Bronda.
The greatest part of his experience has come as owner and head chef at Chez Dominique in Helsinki, which has been awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide.
Matti has added breadth and depth to his culinary arts in his travels and work in Sydney and London.
Tomi is co-owner of five restaurants and boasts a background as a chef in Michelin rated restaurants around the world, precisely like Kim Öhman and Matti Wikberg.
He has spent most of his time in Australia, England and, naturally, Helsinki in Finland.
